About Airtel DLT Connect Portal

Airtel DLT is the DLT registration platform operated by Bharti Airtel Limited, one of India's leading telecom operators. The portal provides a streamlined registration experience with an intuitive interface that guides businesses through every step of the DLT compliance process. Airtel's platform supports entity registration, header (sender ID) management, and content template approval — all within a single unified dashboard.

Airtel offers a fast approval turnaround of 1–3 business days, making it one of the quickest DLT platforms to get started with. The registration fee is Rs 5,000 + GST per year, consistent with other major DLT platforms.

Documents Required

Prepare the following documents before starting your registration on Airtel DLT Connect. All documents must be valid and clearly legible.

  • PAN Card of the business entity
  • GST Certificate (if applicable)
  • Certificate of Incorporation or Registration Certificate
  • Letter of Authorization on company letterhead
  • Authorized signatory's Aadhaar Card or Passport
  • Company email address (must be a company domain email — personal Gmail, Yahoo, or Outlook addresses are not accepted)

Step-by-Step Registration Process

Follow these seven steps to register your business entity on the Airtel DLT portal. The entire process takes approximately 20–30 minutes to complete online.

1

Visit Airtel DLT Connect

Go to airtel.in/business/commercial-communication and click on "Register" or "Sign Up" on the homepage. You will be directed to the entity registration form.

2

Select Your Entity Type

Choose the category that matches your organization: Enterprise (private limited companies, LLPs, partnerships), Startup (DPIIT-recognized startups), Government (central, state, or municipal government bodies), or Individual (sole proprietors). This determines the document requirements in the next steps.

3

Enter Business Details

Provide your company name (as it appears on the incorporation certificate), CIN or business registration number, PAN, GSTIN, and registered address. Airtel's form also asks for the nature of your business — select the most accurate industry category from the dropdown.

4

Enter Authorized Signatory Details

Fill in the details of the person authorized to manage the DLT account: full name, designation, company email address, and mobile number. The email address must be on your company's domain (e.g., name@yourcompany.com).

5

Upload KYC Documents

Upload the required documents: PAN card, GST certificate, incorporation certificate, and the authorization letter. All files should be in PDF or JPEG format and under 2 MB each. Ensure all text is legible and documents are not expired.

6

Verify Your Mobile Number via OTP

An OTP will be sent to the mobile number you entered. Enter the OTP to verify, review your application details, and click "Submit".

7

Pay the Registration Fee and Wait for Approval

Complete the online payment of approximately Rs 5,000 + GST per year. After payment, your application enters the review queue. Approval typically takes 1–3 business days — faster than most other DLT platforms. Once approved, you will receive your unique 19-digit Entity ID via email and SMS. Use this Entity ID for all subsequent header and template registrations.

Registering Sender IDs (Headers)

After your entity is approved on Airtel DLT Connect, you can register sender IDs (headers) that will appear as the sender name on SMS messages received by your customers.

1

Navigate to Header Management

Log in to your Airtel DLT Connect account and open the Header Management section. Click "Add Header" to begin the registration process.

2

Enter Header Details

Type your desired 6-character header name. Select the header type: Transactional (alphabetic sender IDs such as SPEDGE for OTPs and alerts) or Promotional (numeric sender IDs assigned by the operator for marketing messages).

3

Upload Documents and Submit

Upload any brand authorization or trademark documents if prompted. Submit the header for review. On Airtel, header approvals typically take 1–3 business days.

For detailed sender ID naming conventions and restrictions, refer to our DLT Sender ID guide.

Registering Content Templates

All SMS messages sent through the DLT ecosystem must match a pre-approved content template. Register your templates on Airtel DLT Connect following these steps.

1

Open Template Management

Go to the Template Management section in your dashboard and click "Add New Template".

2

Select Template Category

Choose the correct message category: Transactional (OTPs, alerts, account updates), Promotional (marketing offers, discounts), Service Implicit (service messages to existing customers), or Service Explicit (messages to opted-in customers).

3

Compose Template Content

Write your message content using typed variable tags for dynamic values. TRAI now mandates specific tags such as {#alphanumeric#} for names/IDs, {#numeric#} for numbers, and {#url#} for links. Example: Dear {#alphanumeric#}, your order #{#alphanumeric#} has been shipped. Track at {#url#}. - SPEDGE. See our template approval guide for the full list of approved variable tags.

4

Associate Header and Submit

Link the template to an approved header, then submit for review. Template approvals on Airtel typically take 24–72 hours. Once approved, you will receive the Template ID to use in your API calls.

For template formatting rules, character limits, and common rejection reasons, see our DLT template approval guide.

Tips for Faster Approval

Maximize your chances of a quick, hassle-free approval on Airtel DLT Connect:

  • Ensure your company name matches exactly across all uploaded documents — even small differences like "Pvt." versus "Private" will cause a mismatch and delay approval.
  • Use a company domain email address (e.g., name@yourcompany.com). Personal email providers such as Gmail, Yahoo, and Outlook are not accepted on the platform.
  • Upload clear, high-resolution scanned copies. Blurry, cropped, or partially visible documents are the most common reason for rejection.
  • Fill in all fields in the registration form, even optional ones. Complete applications are processed faster.
  • Double-check your PAN and GST numbers for accuracy. A single incorrect character will cause automatic verification failure.
